Electrical Designer / Engineer

Jade Stone Engineering, PLLC, a Watertown-based mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design firm is seeking an independent, reliable, hardworking, electrical engineer for a full time position in its Watertown office. JSE is actively seeking a candidate interested in gaining experience in the electrical design of wastewater treatment facilities, water treatment facilities, industrial, federal, educational, healthcare, and commercial facility systems from concept design through construction.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering preferred but not required.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification is preferred.
  • No prior Engineering experience required; however, applicable coursework or internship/cooperative learning experience preferred.
  • Experience with Revit and AutoCAD is a plus.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
  • Knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) codes is a plus.

  • Candidate must be able to effectively communicate among a team and with clients, organized and be detail oriented.
  • Create electrical engineering designs for buildings, manufacturing facilities, water/wastewater plants, airport, correctional facilities, etc. Systems to be designed include (critical, life safety, emergency), lighting, data communications, fire alarm, security, and integrated process control systems.
  • Interface with clients and other engineering disciplines as well as electricians and contractors during construction.
  • Performs simple and routine tasks assigned at the direction of a mid or senior level engineer using the standards set by the company, group, client, etc.
  • Corrects mark-ups on drawings provided by engineers.
  • Becomes familiar with the company’s and client’s methods, standards, and practices.
