JSE Provided Mechanical, Plumbing, and Electrical Engineering Services on this $40,000,000 Project

The City of Ogdensburg WWTP Improvements project includes a complete overhaul of the existing facility. Jade Stone Engineering (JSE) worked on the early parts of this project to develop a preliminary engineering report which included a condition assessment, recommendation of improvements, and opinion of probable construction costs. Once funding was obtained JSE joined the team to provide mechanical (HVAC), electrical, and plumbing engineering, bidding, and construction phase services


Design scope items include:

  • New influent screening equipment
  • New grit removal building
  • New pumps, valves, and flow meter
  • New septage receiving system and new sludge and scum collection equipment
  • New UV building, and new UV and sodium hypochlorite disinfection systems
  • New chlorine contact tank
  • New centrifuge dewatering system


Other significant design aspects of this project included, but were not limited to: a new electrical service entrance and associated gear, new emergency generator system (500kW parallel units), design of dual fuel boiler system and complete HVAC replacement system, design of NFPA 820 compliant systems (Fire Protection in Wastewater Treatment Facilities), design of numerous motor control centers, new mechanical and electrical systems associated with the new septage receiving station, all existing facility renovations, complete new underground infrastructure, and new high efficiency LED lighting system.  JSE worked in close coordination with GHD and the City to keep the project within budget and ensure all proposed systems were fully coordinated.
