JSE worked hand-in-hand with Clarkson University and Ducted Wind Turbines Inc. (DWT) with engineering guidance and assistance associated with the National Grid Interconnection Application and start-up of several test machines.

There were 2 applications; the first was completed in 2019 and is located on the Clarkson Main Campus. The second test site was recently completed in March 2021, and is located near the Clarkson University 2MW Solar Array just outside the village of Potsdam.

Ducted Wind Turbines (DWT) is a wind turbine company in Potsdam, NY focused on providing durable small wind turbines at the lowest cost per kWh in the small wind market. DWT has an exclusive global license from Clarkson University for a ducted wind turbine design that delivers twice the energy of an open-bladed turbine of the same diameter (USPTO # 10,563,635, issued Feb. 18, 2020).
