Work entailed full audio, HVAC, lighting, and controls.  The project received the LEED Silver Certification.

LaFargeville Central School underwent a major capital construction project which included a gymnasium addition with elevated running track and locker rooms.  The existing gymnasium was transformed 8,200 SF into a modern, state-of-the-art 7,500 SF theater.  Work entailed full audio, HVAC, lighting, and controls.  This project received the LEED Silver Certification.

Significant design aspects include a 12,000 CFM variable speed AHU with CO2 reactive control for ventilation along with 40 tons cooling ACCU equipped with low turndown, multi-staging compressors to allow for temperature comfort and fine humidity control.

Sound analysis was performed to ensure minimal noise or audio; a number of measures were used including acoustical sound lining, acoustical duct silencers on both return and supply ductwork, and selection of an AHU with low fan speeds.

Other key aspects included the use of advanced daylighting controls, photo voltaic solar panels, a 10kw wind turbine, and life safety and fire alarm upgrades.

Intrinsic to the project was close coordination with acoustical consultants and careful considerations for HVAC and lighting solutions within tight space constraints and budgets.
