JSE provided assistance with the conversion of a former 14,000 SF DFAC dining facility into a MEDDAC Wellness Center.
JSE was the engineer of record for the MEP/FP components of the project. Work included a complete rehab of an existing DFAC (dining facility) into a wellness center including exam rooms, offices, physical therapy rooms, etc.
To keep costs under budget, reuse of the existing central AHU was required; modifications included VAV controls, ductwork and upgrade of the existing boiler system. Horizontal data cabling distribution and telecom room design in accordance with 13A standards as well as reconfiguration of the building’s power distribution system to suit the change in occupancy type was also provided.
Other services included a new high-efficiency lighting system throughout the facility, fiber-optic and copper backbone distribution, upgrading of boiler plants to utilize condenser boilers, and the design of fire alarm and mass notification systems – complete with a Monaco transmitter in accordance with Army UFC and local post requirements.
