Jade Stone Engineering provided M/E/P design services for the SRO Lake Street location

Transitional Living Services of Northern New York (TLS) serves adults with serious and persistent mental illness by providing residential services where residents can acquire independent living skills including medication management, socialization and daily living skills.  In one of its many capacities, TLS provides temporary transitional housing assistance for Homeless Families and single men and women over the age of 18 and operates 4 low income housing properties serving the Homeless and general population of St. Lawrence County.  Their Lake Street Home provides single room occupant (SRO) community style living, kitchen, and bath areas.  TLS was interested in expanding this location to include a 2-story addition and basement totaling approximately 4,836 square feet and doubling the number of units in the Home from 6 to 12.

 

Jade Stone Engineering provided M/E/P design services for the SRO Lake Street location.

 

Electrical design work included electrical service review to ensure it is properly sized for new demands; building power distribution; electrical schedules for any specialty equipment; and energy efficient LED interior and exterior lighting, circuiting and controls.

 

Mechanical design work included heating and cooling load calculations; (2) 260 MBH hot high efficiency hot water boilers that provides zoned heat to the radiant ceiling panels with the apartments, cabinet unit heaters to provide heat in the public spaces, bathroom exhaust system and a new energy management system.

 

Plumbing design work included bathroom plumbing design, sanitary and domestic water; hose bibs and general plumbing requirements; and gas piping design inside building in support of mechanical equipment.
